Your interview is awesome. You ask questions that we should all be asking kids. You open up so much possibility for thoughtful sitting with and listening to another. Thanks!

It has been so nice to hear Leland growing older, growing up over the years. I hope you keep interviewing him. This is a great durational interview project – a slow motion portrait of an ordinary, thoughtful, earnest kid/young adult. Your patient, attentive interviewing makes me want to keep hearing more – makes me want to know what happens next for Leland, will always want to hear what happens next…yay!

Hearing Leland’s many voices as he matured over the years was stunning. I loved the way you went back and forth with it. I’m so glad he was willing to be interviewed all these years; otherwise I would never have had the joy of knowing such a remarkable young man . I hope his parents are proud. I think his college choice is a good one; I wish him well!

Thanks Erica: What a wonderful way to track the growth of a wonderful young man. Your show is a ray of sunshine from a state that we loved living in while at UVM…and it remains in our thoughts 40 years later. Now living in British Columbia, you keep us entertained and inspired.

Leland’s pork comment fascinated me. It came a day after I listened to Peter Zeihan’s podcast.

    Here’s the link.

    Please forward to Leland.

I’ve met some of the most interesting people while sitting in a waiting room for an oil change or some other mundane appointment. We spend so much time obsessing over celebrities, but the truly interesting people walk among us, as is evidenced in these compelling and inspiring interviews. Everyone has thoughts and stories and I’m so glad you shed light on these extraordinary ordinary humans. I loved hearing Leland’s thoughts and feelings about his life as he grew from young boy to young man. His mind is just spilling over with wisdom and wonder and intelligence. It struck me that scientists and inventors could benefit from spending more time in conversation with young people like Leland, with boundless curiosity and imagination. His mind was so free to consider many possibilities for things like space and the afterlife because it hadn’t been penned in by pedagogy. I thank you for another glimpse into the soul of a special human
