The Eventide Singers are a volunteer hospice choir based in Greenfield, Massachusetts. They aim to comfort people who are ill, homebound, or actively dying. There are a number of these groups of bedside singers in Vermont and all over the world. They sing to be of service to people who are straddling the edges of life and death, or who are lonely and need a little light. They sing to comfort the caregivers and give them a little break from all they must attend to. They are intimate strangers providing a unique service–temporarily healing the weary through song.
We Are Sending You Light is produced by Sara Brooke Curtis.

Hi Erica,
Yet another moving informative podcast.
As I grow older I find myself contemplating death more frequently, my own of course.
Please, what do you mean by “actively dying”? I figured we are all actively dying through-out our lives.
Regards,
Chris.
The term ‘actively dying’ is used in the medical/hospice world to describe the final stages of the death process.I’m so glad you liked it a Chris. Sara makes great stuff!
I love this and I love your show! One of my favourites out there. Thank you for continue to delight us and make us feel human with your stories. I dream of visiting Vermont one day 🙂
Thank you Jen. Come visit! Just don’t come in January because it’s bleak. Come in fall or summer or spring….!
